Fauxson Fell Ponies and Pinto Friesian Sporthorses

About Us

Rambler after Devon Win

The Van Puttens have been breeding 3/4 friesian and pinto friesian sporthorses since 2000. In 2006, they acquired their first Fell pony. Laurelhighland Rambler. Rambler is now licensed and ready to stand to registered Fell mares and select non-Fell mares.

The 2004 grey Fell mare, Laurelhighland Sapphire, is also part of the Van Putten clan. She is bred to Rambler for an April 2008 foal.

Cherie has had a love of horses her whole life. After several years in New York City, she quit a perfectly good job in public relations and apprenticed at the UVM Morgan Horse Farm. Both George and Cherie love to start young horses and ponies. Cherie also trains in dressage. George and Cherie both enjoy trailriding, and the whole family enjoys carriage driving.

Cherie began searching for a pony breed to raise after selling her half friesian pony mare, Unknown Legend (Harley). Harley is now in Vermont with one of her daughters (Haarlem) who was also bred by the Van Puttens. At five feet one inch (on a good day), Cherie wanted to stick with ponies, but hated losing the Friesian looks. She attended the Timonium Horse Expo in January 2006 and saw Rambler. It was love at first sight.

The Van Puttens have sold their last friesian cross and plan to discontinue breeding friesian crosses and concentrate solely on Fells with an occasional Fell Cross.

The farm is located in Binghamton, New York. Minutes off of route 81 and just a few miles outside of Pennsylvania. It is only 3 hours from Chester County, PA, and New York, NY
